Speech recognition

From about the year 2000 to 2010 the voice recognition was done with software programs on the computer.

My voice is not very clear. This causes a problem with speech recognition software. I also use the dutch version of the speech recognition software, which is not as good as the English version.

Lernout & Hauspie Voice Xpress Advanced 2.5
This version worked reasonably. But correcting the many mistakes took more time than just typing.

Philips FreeSpeech 2000
This worked less than the "Voice Xpress". So for me it was not really usable.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 3.6
This version didn't accept my voice. I never once managed to get it working.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8
This version accepts half the time my voice. If my voice is accepted, and I put a lot of effort in training the software, then the result is still very poor.
It is almost impossible for me to let it recognize one good sentence.

In 2016, speech recognition is often used as part of the operating system (Apple with Siri, Android with Google Now, and others). They are still not good with the Dutch language to make complete sentences.
There is a "Dragon NaturallySpeaking Home Editie" for 99 euros, but there is no demonstration version to try it.

In 2018, I have tested the Google Cloud Speech-to-Text in Dutch. That is not going well with my voice. About 25% of the words are not correct. Sometimes half a sentence is missing, sometimes words are added that have nothing to do with what I was saying.
The Microsoft en IBM speech recognition work even less.
Maybe I have to wait another 5 or 10 years.
